The Campus Commons is transforming the heart of the TCU campus. This elegant cluster of buff-colored buildings has quickly become the crossroads of campus life, where all the members of the University community come together: students, faculty, staff and alumni.
In recent years, more than half of our students could not live in University housing and therefore missed out on a full student life experience. As a result of The Campaign for TCU, that has changed. Four beautiful new residence halls in the Campus Commons bring us much closer to our goal of two-thirds of undergraduate students living in University-authorized housing.
The Commons’ western anchor, the new Brown-Lupton University Union, is the home of the most-used student services. It provides spaces for campus activities and organizations as well as the University’s central food service area. In addition, it provides an ideal venue for an array of cultural and intellectual events, such as music performances, plays and lectures.
The East Commons is also being transformed. Across a wide greenspace on the site of the old Brown-Lupton Student Center, TCU is constructing Scharbauer Hall, which will provide state-of-the-art academic space for AddRan College and the John V. Roach Honors College.
